Here is part 2 in our series on natural remedies to help with your menopause. Before we get into food, supplements, and herbs, we need to cover nutrition.
You should take time to visit your physician or naturopath to be sure if menopause is causing your symptoms (hot flashes, etc.). Long before you would even consider hormone replacement therapy (HRT), read up on the menopause natural remedies we will discuss, and how simple nutrition can play a HUGE role in relieving your symptoms.
Good nutrition is one of your best defenses against the symptoms of menopause. If the food you eat has been "less than nutricious," its time to make a change, making sure your foods are healthy and that they provide all the nutrients your body needs. Of all menopause pills, potions, vitamins, cohash, or whatever, your diet is paramount.
For example, Caffeine and alcohol can increase hot flashes. Therefore, it may be time to either cut back or eliminate these two altogether. I don't drink alcohol, and I now drink caffeine-free tea. It's likely you'll experience a reduction in hot flashes just by doing this.
Next we will be talking about how food can help or hurt your menopause symptoms.
