Every now and then we get a letter or an article written by one of our visitors that we'd like to share. Sherry from California put together some information on Hormone Replacement Therapy that she had researched for herself. This is the first part of Sherry's article.
There are a few things in life that are fact. We live, we pay taxes and then we die. Well if you’re a woman there is one more thing that you will have to add to that list and it is menopause. This happens because our bodies go through changes where our reproductive hormones, namely oestrogen and progesterone lessen to the point where our menstruation cycle ceases to be. This is a good time to look into natural alternatives to HRT (Hormone Replacement Therapy).
There are a number of prescribed medications that physicians will use to help a person with menopause symptoms, however these medications are synthesised hormones that only make the body think that it is not in menopause. Taking these kinds of medications only prolongs the inevitable because one you stop taking them the process just starts all over again for your body. It’s a big enough emotional and physical rollercoaster to deal with in your fifties, so why postpone it to your sixties or seventies when you can control it all with HRT alternatives.
Hot flashes, night sweats, osteoporosis, stress, irritability, anxiety, depression, fatigue, weight gain and bloating are just a few of the thing to look forward to that are a part of menopause. However these are not as bad as they sound and can be easily remedied by using HRT alternatives.
Diet: To get your body ready for menopause you can begin with diet. Make sure that you are eating a balanced healthy meal with lots of fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds. Eat less meat and junk food and use seasonings instead of salt when you prepare your foods. Also make sure to eat regularly scheduled meals
Calcium: By eating more foods such as seeds, oats, nuts, salmon, figs, molasses and sardines you will not have to worry about not having enough calcium in your diet to supply your bones with what they need.
I will continue the rest of Sherry's article in a few days.
